The South Beach diet plan is among the most popular ways to lose weight today. It is based around lifestyle and diet changes that help you steadily lose weight. By cutting “bad” fats and carbohydrates and having plenty of “good” ones, dieters can take weight off without feeling deprived or sacrificing their health.

There are three phases in the South Beach program. During the first stage, dieters can’t eat any carbohydrates except for vegetables. Although many foods are restricted, dieters still have a wide choice of foods they can consume. Stage one is the most difficult stage, but also the shortest since it only takes fourteen days. Dieters are expected to lose between 8 to 12 pounds during this period.

In phase two, dieters begin incorporating the previously restricted carb-rich foods into their meals. Dieters are expected to lose a few pounds each week while slowly increasing the volume of carbohydrates they eat. Phase two lasts until dieters arrive at their desired weight.

Phase three is the lifetime maintenance stage. Dieters utilize their strategies from phase two to keep their goal weight throughout the rest of their lives. If dieters start to put on weight, they can revert back to phase one of the program.

You have probably seen pre-packaged South Beach meals and snacks at the supermarket. These products are very handy, but you do not need to spend money on them in order to follow the diet. You just need to follow the different general guidelines for each stage of the program.

During stage one of the diet, you may consume lean meats, such as turkey, chicken, and fish, eggs, nuts, most vegetables, and a limited quantity of nonfat dairy products. Fruit juices and fruit are not eaten during this stage because they are high in sugar. Also banned are all carbohydrates, fatty cuts of meat, alcohol, and some vegetables that may have high sugar content, such as beets. The goal of this stage is to cut “bad” carbohydrates from your diet and initiate the process of losing weight.

During the second stage, dieters gradually reintroduce whole grains, fruit, and other banned foods into their diet. In the process, dieters learn how to balance their eating habits to keep a desirable weight. Once this is successfully accomplished, the diet switches into the life maintenance stage, in which dieters attempt to maintain the healthy strategies that brought them to their desired weight.

The factor for success with the South Beach program is dedication to healthy eating. Although that seems easy, this diet and most other diets fail because dieters give up before the program can achieve results. The problems that most men and women have with losing weight often stem from deep-rooted issues such as a lack of drive to lose weight, a habit of eating too much, or an inability to control the appetite. The good thing is that all of these issues can be resolved with techniques that are easy to learn from a good hypnosis diet CD program.

To reverse a lack of motivation, a technique from a technology called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) will induce a powerful desire to stay on track with your dieting goals.

First, dieters identify precisely what things are most important to them, as an individual. This is known as their “highly valued criteria.” Then, NLP techniques are applied to make the dieters think that by losing weight, their highly valued criteria will become enhanced. An alternative is to make the dieter think that if they do not lose weight, their most valued criteria will be in jeopardy.

Motivation comes from what we believe in, not from logic! So in the above case, let’s say that the dieter’s most valued desire is that the dieter’s kids are happy and safe. Using an NLP tool known as Submodalities, we can lead the dieter into thinking that if she or he fails to lose weight, the kids will be fated to emulating their parent and they will be fat and unhappy. This belief will give a strong desire and feeling to stay on the diet and take the weight off.

Many NLP techniques can help to lessen or even entirely eliminate the urges and cravings that prompt one to eat too much. This works very effectively to help dieters stick to the first and most difficult fourteen days of the South Beach diet. Furthermore, helps dieters commit to a fitness program, which will enhance the efficacy of any diet program.

Stress is an issue that frequently drives people to overeat or neglect their well-being, but relief is offered by both hypnosis and NLP practices. One such tool is known as the NLP Flash. With this technique, having your unconscious mind use stress-causing thoughts to prompt you to have positive thoughts gets rid of the stress that causes the desire to eat excessively.

Uncontrollable eating habits can also cause men and women to pack on pounds. Countless people have seemingly unmanageable eating habits because over the years, they have developed a “conditioned response” to eat in certain situations. For example, many of us gorge on junk food in front of the TV even though we aren’t truly even hungry. The good thing is, NLP and hypnosis possess practices that can rapidly extinguish these conditioned behaviors. These practices eliminate the appetite without pills or drugs.

By treating the main problems that keep people from shedding pounds, NLP and hypnosis has helped many people finally get fit and slim for life. Combined with the South Beach program, dieters can enjoy natural weight loss and triumph at achieving their health goals.

Margarethe De Clermont asked:

Another day, another new diet, another new guru or another miraculous new weight loss pill…promising instant weight loss overnight.

The diet industry is enormous; billions of dollars are spent and made every year. Anything that even remotely target a piece of the weight loss market can bring considerable wealth to those who are determined to cash in on it. So on it goes, producing yet another “new” diet/weight loss expert to tempt us to part with out hard-earned cash…

There are so many different diets and weight-loss programs on the market at the moment that it is extremely difficult for somebody who has little or no knowledge of good nutrition to know where to turn to when they want to lose weight.Which diet will work? Which book should you read? Where can you get more information?

If it sounds too good to be true, it generally is.There is no such thing as instant weight loss. Starvation diets don’t work. I guess you have figured out by now that it is not possible to go from being unfit and obese one week to being svelte and in shape a few days to a month later.

One of the principles of NLP is that if something doesn’t work, if you don’t get the results you hoped for, then you should try something else. Makes sense, doesn’t it? So why do we keep on going on crash diets? You would have heard this many times before: Crash diets don’t work and the annoying fact is, this is indeed true.

Many people will start on a diet, but the percentage that will succeed will be small(less than 10%) compared to those who fail.

So why do some many people when face with failure blame it on themselves and try again… or change to another diet in the hope that this diet will finally work?

One of the problems that face people who are on a diet is the fact that they are constantly thinking about food. It is on their mind all the time and they soon end up feeling deprived.

They talk about it all the time, they tell everyone they are on a diet and bore them with the gory details…food becomes the main focus of their thoughts throughout the day (and the night!).

Does this sound familiar at all?

When you start a diet the first thing you have to deal with is HUNGER and that is why most diets fail by tea time on Monday morning. Starvation is too hard for most people to endure and for this simple reason most diets fail.

No one wants to starve and it is only human nature to do everything we can to ensure we get sufficient food so that we don’t have to suffer those persistant, nagging hungerpains.

If you are trying to maintain a diet that constantly leaves you feeling hungry, then you are most likely destined to fail. It’s just too difficult at the best of times, and when life gets complicated it becomes unbearable.

The outcome for most people after having had to endure this period of hardship is to get back onto the ‘eating too much’ bandwagon and pile the weight right back on and in no time at all. They are left feeling deeply disappointed and worse about themselves than they would have felt if they had never dieted in the first place.

So what’s the solution? Try something else! Try something different. Try self-hypnosis. Hypnosis will help you change your eating patterns, unearth bad habits and reveal false food and eating beliefs. It is definely worth investigating…before you start another diet doomed to failure.
